It's just been a while after Canadian Post ended their strike. Now, we're facing another strike. German airport security walked off the job between 2 a.m. and 8 p.m. local time on January 15. Thousands of flights were cancelled there and thus air freight service is impeded across Germany.
As we all know, strikes are quite often in European countries since the action is protected by laws and workers want to fight for better pay and other benefits with the help of the labour unions. And it exerts a strong influence on packages delivery. For drop shippers, this is not a good thing. Shipping from outside of your country already takes a long time and any delivery delay is testing their patience and put your business at risk.
Well, there is nothing we can do to end the strike itself, but we also don't want the shipment delays. Then is there anything we can do to solve the shipping problem?
The answer is a big YES! Our solutions to the delivery delays caused by the walkout in Europe are shipping parcels through special lines and setting up a European warehouse. And I will introduce them one by one below.
The first one is the European shipping special lines. Since the special lines allow packages to be shipped from a specific city to the destination city directly, they would shorten the delivery by cutting out the transit time. Take our Yanwen Direct Line as an example. During this strike in Germany, most shipping methods are affected and cannot guarantee the delivery. However, this is not true when it comes to Yanwen Direct Line. All packages shipped by it can still be delivered in time. And we also have other European direct lines to ensure fast international shipping.
There is another way to tackle this problem – establishing a warehouse in Europe. And this is what we are planning to do in the next few months. That means you will be able to use it as your fulfilment centre this year. I believe most of you have experienced our US warehouse in Chino and it does facilitate the shipment.
And there's even more to this. It helps your business continue during Chinese holidays. Customers getting supplies from China definitely know that all factories are closed during Chinese New Year. Then what should you do? If you want to process coming orders in this period, you have to stock inventory in foreign warehouses. Our US warehouse helps, and so will the EU warehouse.
Now, we're still considering the warehouse location and other related details. Will keep you updated on it. And if you have any suggestions, please leave comments below. Thanks!
